Honda unveils feature-packed 2012 CR-V at the LA Motor Show
One case easily see the difference in the design language from the previous generations. Where the previous generations were a bit boxy, the 2012 CR-V is very aerodynamic with fluid lines flowing throughout the body.
The fourth gen CR-V has certainly raised its game and is more upmarket. As predicted earlier, the size of the CR-V has surely grown but it is still a 5 seater and not a much wanted 7 seater.
The new CR-V is built grounds up with totally fresh interior styling. On the inside, there are some really cool features such as:
- Multi-Angle Rearview Camera
- One-Touch Power Moonroof with Tilt Feature
- Touch screen Multi-Information Display
- Pandora® internet radio interface (this won’t make it to India)
- Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® phone interface
- DVD Rear Entertainment System
- Eco Assist for Fuel efficient driving
Safety of the passengers has also been given key importance as the new CR-V features a more rigid body structure and the exterior design is kinder to pedestrians in case of an accident. It also has:
- Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with Traction Control
- Brake Assist
- Advanced 4-Channel ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System
- Front and curtain airbags
The 2012 CR-V will be powered by Honda’s 2.4L i-VTEC four cylinder engine that produces 185hp and 163 lb-ft of torque and is mated a five-speed automatic transmission (No double clutch goodies here). An average fuel economy is rated at 11 km/L
