What do you think about the new Honda Accord?
Don't say you did not see the 9th generation 2013 Honda Accord coming. Our image specialist SRK had rendered the latest Honda Accord based on the concept car shown as a precursor early this year. Honda terms it as "the most sculpted Accord ever."
Honda says that the new Accord is bigger on the inside and smaller on the outside, which means the focus is more on interior.
Since Honda did not reveal any information on engines, interior or pricing, we will analyse the form of the car. It is easy to deduce that, like the new Civic, the Accord's design is evolutionary.
What Honda means by "the most sculpted Accord ever" is that its design is more sophisticated. The front fascia is simple to the human eye, but is more complex to design and build. The front grille has two solid chrome lines, which is lighter in design than the present Accord.
A thick character line starts from the front fender and fades out at the rear door handle, as it flows upward until it meets the tail lamp. The solid and slightly boxy look of the present Honda Accord is broken by this generation. The rear of the new Accord is criticized by many car enthusiasts as it looks a lot like the Hyundai Genesis.
The new Accord's overall length is shortened and it features eye-candy such as a thick 10-spoke wheels, LED daytime running lamps, redesigned tail lamps and headlamps.
Vicki Poponi, Assistant VP of product planning for Honda America -
"Following Honda's long-held philosophy of 'man maximum, machine minimum,' the beautiful exterior evolved from a focus on interior space and the needs of the people inside it."
Accord fans, what's your say?
