Harley-Davidson has launched the 2014 Street Glide in India. Introduced as a CBU (Completely Built up Unit), the 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide will be available across all the 11 dealerships in the country. The Tourer is priced at INR 29 lakhs (ex-Showroom, New Delhi).
Power comes from the Harley high-output twin cam 103 engine displacing 1,690cc, with a peak torque of 138Nm arriving at 3,500rpm. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed gearbox.
Harley has fitted an all-new airbox and camshaft to improve the bottom-end torque of this engine. The result is an improvement in the 60-80mph (96-128kmph) acceleration time in fifth gear.
For the 2014 model, Harley has also changed the suspension components: Larger fork sliders, stiffer triple clamps and an increase in the fork diameter from 43.1mm to 49mm should ensure a better steering response as well as a smoother ride.
Other noteworthy features include a 4.3-inch high-resolution Boom Box infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity, voice recognition and GPS navigation.
