India-made 2014 Nissan Micra hits 32 European markets
The made-in-India 2014 Nissan Micra has reached showrooms across 32 nations in Europe.
The Euro spec Nissan Micra facelift was unveiled in Milan in June. The global hatchback is being manufactured in India, Thailand, China and Mexico. The Indian plant fully caters to the European markets.
The new Nissan Micra sheds its girly appearance in favor of a more sporty look that appeals to both the genders. The new headlamps, grille and bumper together have managed to transform the car's front fascia. The LED elements of the combination lights, and a reshaped registration plate enclosure are the notable changes in the rear fascia.
On the inside, the B Segment hatchback houses a completely new centre console and revised instrument cluster. The centre console features a piano black finish.
The Micra is available in three variants - Visia, Acenta and Tekna. The high-end variant comes with a 5.8-inch touchscreen for the 'Nissan Connect' navigation system with Google Send-To-Car feature which allows the owner to plan a trip in his/her PC and transfer it to the car's navigation system.
Powering the Micra will be a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, the same 80PS unit that powers the Indian car. In addition, there is also a DIG-S (Direct Injection Gasoline - Supercharged) version of the engine that whips out 98PS on the same displacement. Transmission options are a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
