2014 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S revealed
Porsche has revealed the 911 Turbo and Turbo S models ahead of their public debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Going back in time, the first 911 was unveiled in Frankfurt 50 years ago while the 911 Turbo took ten more years to arrive.

The new generation 911 Turbo and Turbo S will be a fitting tribute to the legendary Porsche 911 series then. The latest 911 Turbo packs a twin turbocharged 3.8 litre flat-six engine with direct injection technology which produces a peak power of 520hp. The S variant, however, is more powerful with a power output of 560hp.
Porsche ditches manual transmission in favor of a standard seven-speed dual clutch PDK transmission with auto start/stop function. With the aid of thermal management system, Porsche has improved efficiency significantly by 16% to bring out the mileage figure of 10.3kpl.
The 911 Turbo does 0 to 100kph in 3.2 seconds, one-tenth faster than the previous 911 Turbo S, with the optional sport chrono package. It has a top speed of 196mph (315kph). The new 911 Turbo S takes just 2.9 seconds to get to 100kph while topping a speed of 198mph (318kph) with the same chrono package.
The high performance is delivered, thanks to the adaptive aerodynamics, new all wheel drive system and active rear axle steering. The steering angle of the rear wheels can be varied by up to 2.8 degrees depending on the speed of the vehicle.
The latest 911 Turbo is wider than the 911 Carrera 4 models by 28mm. It boasts aggressive rear bumper intakes and dual-tone 20 inch aluminium wheels. The Turbo S gets additional unique features like standard full LED headlights and center hub wheel locks. The aerodynamic wing package includes a retractable three-stage front spoiler and a rear wing with three tunes of adjustment.
Both the 911 Turbo and Turbo S models will arrive at European markets by the end of September 2013. The base 911 Turbo starts at €162,055 (around Rs. 1.14 crore) in Germany while the Turbo S starts from €195,256 (around Rs. 1.37 crore) onwards.
