New Ssangyong Rodius to arrive in Gangnam style next week
The title may be a little misleading as the next gen Ssangyong Rodius is not going to arrive dancing, but will be showcased at the Gangnam Seoul Trade Exhibition and Convention Center, South Korea on February 5th.
We have introduced you the Rodius and have brought spy pictures of the vehicle. However, there is a little twist to the story. The car will be called as the Korando Turismo in the South Korean market.
The launch of Korando Turismo will be a part of Ssangyong Motor Corp's silver jubilee celebrations. Elsewhere in the world the massive MPV could retain its predecessor's Rodius nameplate.
The new Rodius appears to be conceived as a global model which will go on sale in all the countries that were covered by the old Rodius and could also tap into new markets. The mega-sized SUV is expected to have a choice of 7, 9 and 12 seats and given its sheer dimensions, the MPV could gobble up an entire football team!
The Ssangyong Rodius a.k.a. Korando Turismo is expected to be powered by the 2.0 litre diesel engine that powers the Korando C and could be offered in two states of tune, producing 148 bhp or 173 bhp.
We'd certainly want Mahindra to try the Rodius in India, but we have our doubts on whether it can be price positioned against the Innova.
