Gets 3 PS more.

The 2015 BMW F800 R breaks cover at the EICMA 2014 in Milan Italy. The naked sportsbike is one of two world premieres from the German automaker at the 100th edition of the prestigious annual motorcycle event.

The second iteration of the street fighter gets new suspension components and optimized ergonomics. The seat is mounted 10 mm lower at 790 mm; and the handlebar and rider foot pegs are new. Cosmetically, the naked Bimmer sports a newly designed symmetrical headlight, revised panels, radiator shield, front mudguard and wheels. New color options are also in the offing.

The 798 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin cylinder engine of the predecessor continues the duty, mated to a 6-speed transmission which features revised first and second gear ratios. The power and torque figures stand at 90 PS (88.7 bhp) at 8,000 rpm and 86 Nm at 5,800 rpm.

The motorcycle is now suspended by a conventional upside down front telescopic fork (earlier model used a regular telescopic setup) and rear monoshock with two-sided swingarm. The braking system now employs radial brake calipers for the double front discs.

The equipment list includes ABS, and optional ASC (Automatic Stability Control) and ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment).

Targetted at novice riders, the BMW F 800 R can also be specified with reduced power output of 48 PS (47.32 bhp) as a special accessory.
