Brazil - 2015 Fiat Uno facelift leaked
The Brazil-specific 2015 Fiat Uno (Facelift) comes this August, but thanks to a leaked presentation we can already see what the vehicle looks like.
Starting with the front, the slight extension into the fender of the headlamp has been deleted. A glossy applique connects the headlamps, and the foglight enclosure is vertically set. Fiat continue their creativity in making new rim designs, making up the only difference to the car's side profile. At the back, the car receives clear-lens taillaights, new bumper, faux air passages on the extremes and centrally-mounted dual exhaust tips.
The dashboard receives a full redesign with the center console mimicking the 500 family's with an LCD touch screen flanked by vertical air vents (and an upgraded stereo on lower variants). Also different are the steering wheel (which come with audio control buttons), air-con controls interface and storage solutions.
The facelift will not get supported with new engines, instead it will use the same lineup seen on the current model, featuring the 1.0L and the 1.4L engine. Fiat is believed to be looking at installing the Start-Stop system as standard across all engines in the future.
The facelift is expected to keep the car more competitive as new nameplates such as the Chevrolet Onix and Hyundai HB20 are selling very well. The new generation Uno was launched in Brazil in 2010 and this would be the first cosmetic makeover for the car. The new Uno is engineered completely in Brazil and sold exclusively in South America.
