Likely to be powered by 1.3- and 1.5-liter petrol engines.

Honda has started testing the 2015 Jazz Shuttle/Fit Shuttle, ahead of a launch that could take place this year. These spyshots, reported to have been taken in Japan, show the new Jazz Shuttle with a production ready body hinting that an unveiling could be months away. Honda could preview the design of the station wagon through a concept much before the actual debut though.

The new Fit Shuttle is expected to go on sale by the end of this year.

Based on the Jazz platform, the wagon will be the fourth bodystyle (Jazz/Fit, City and Vezel/HR-V being the others), though it remains to be seen if Honda launches the car in global markets, or restricts sales to key markets like Japan and China.

Parts like the headlights, the Solid Wing face grille, door mirrors, front doors and windows seem inspired or directly lifted from the new Jazz. Towards the rear, the new Fit Shuttle gets a wraparound treatment for the rear windscreen (camouflaged in these spyshots) which seems inspired by the Civic Tourer sold in Europe.

The new Fit Shuttle is likely to feature a boot larger than 590 liters.

The second generation Fit Shuttle is expected to have a roomier boot compared to the first generation's 590 liter trunk. Like the first gen model, it would borrow the dashboard and several interior parts, like the plastics and door trims, from the Jazz.

Honda is expected to equip the new Fit Shuttle with 1.3- or 1.5-liter gasoline engines. For the Japanese market, the hybrid motor paired to a dual-clutch transmission could see the light of day.

The Jazz Shuttle is not expected to launch in India, where the market for station wagon/estate bodystyle is non existent.
