INTERMOT 2014 Live - 2015 Kawasaki Versys 650
Changes are in line with the new Versys 1000.
Keeping company to the outrageous Ninja H2R concept at the INTERMOT 2014 are the 2015 Kawasaki Versys 650 and Versys 1000.
The smaller Versys tourer treads along with its big brother in terms of design. The quirky looking front fairing of the previous model with vertically stacked lights have been replaced by a twin-headlamp design which makes the bike instantly recognizable as a Kawasaki. The rear gets an LED taillight.
The 649 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine develops 69 PS and 64 Nm of torque. Mated to a 6-speed transmission, Kawasaki claims that the motor has been tweaked to offer high-end performance and improved fuel efficiency.
The chassis is a tubular diamond type frame made of high-tensile steel. The front telescopic fork which has a travel of 41 mm now features separate functions for each tube, allowing easy adjustments. The bike also comes with an upgraded master cylinder and brake pads.
In terms of dimensions, the facelifted Versys 650 measures 2,165 mm in length, 840 mm in width, 1,400 mm height and 1,415 mm in wheelbase.
The 2015 Kawasaki Versys 650 carries an entry level price tag of 7,695 euros (around INR 5.98 lakhs).
