Guangzhou Live - 2015 Kia Sorento L
Bigger than the older model.
The 2015 Kia Sorento L (L for Latest) which was showcased at the Paris Motor Show earlier this year made its Chinese debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2014.
The latest gen SUV is a new product in its own right and is not based on the Hyundai Santa Fe like its predecessor. The SUV adopts a new design language with peeled back headlamps, larger 'Tiger Shark' grille and prominent foglights.
In profile, the 2015 Sorento L's roof remains flatter till the end, enhancing the headroom and the greenhouse is larger in area to result in an airy cabin. The bulging rear gets wraparound taillights and a black bumper.
The interior is brand new and is much more modern than the previous model. The uncluttered dashboard sports protruding, silver accented AC vents, a touchscreen multimedia infotainment system and a new multifunction three-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel.
Powertrain lineup for the Chinese market includes a 2.4-litre MPI and GDI petrol engines in addition to a 2.2-litre diesel motor, all of which are mated to a standard 6-speed manual transmission.
The SUV comes with standard safety equipment such as dual airbags, Hill Hold Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and reverse parking sensor.
