LA Live - 2015 Mazda MX-5

Mazda has showcased the local specification 2015 Mazda MX-5 at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The car, which world premiered earlier this year and was presented in Paris for the European audience, will come only with the 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder petrol engine (naturally aspirated) coupled to a Skyactiv-MT six-speed manual transmission in the US market.
Mazda has not specified the engine outputs.
Some features Mazda has disclosed for the US-spec car are a double wishbone front suspension, multi-link rear suspension, electric power steering, ventilated disc brakes on the front axle and 195/50 R16 or 205/45 R17 tires.
The MX-5 is based on a new RWD platform and weighs 100 kg lighter compared to its predecessor.
The 2015 model is 105 mm shorter, 20 mm lower and 10 mm wider than the previous generation.
