Europe - Next gen Nissan Qashqai engine range revealed
Autocar UK reports that the engine range for the 2015 Nissan Qashqai, launching early next year, would start with a turbocharged 1.2L petrol engine (DiG-T) that produces 113bhp. At launch, diesel options would include a 1.5-liter (K9K) engine producing 108bhp and a 1.6-liter top-end engine with 128bhp.
In showrooms, Qashqais would be labeled Visia, Visia+ Safety Pack, Acenta, Acenta Premium and Tekna. The 1.6L diesel engined Acenta Premium and Tekna variants would come with optional 4WD.
Our reader Harshavardhana from the UK, spotted a test prototype of the new Qashqai in August. As the model was camouflaged, we'll have to take Autocar's word when the say the replacement is more "avant-garde" in design.
Nissan has reportedly also promised a more sporting driving experience on the new comer. Note that Nissan has sold over 1.3 million Qashqais in Europe and is the leader in the C-Crossover segment.
What Nissan is going to change compared to today's product lineup, is that they have three cars in Europe at the moment - Qashqai, Qashqai+2 and X-Trail. In the future they will have just two models - Qashqai as a five seater car, and the X-Trail with seats for five and seven people. A debut at the Geneva Motor Show next year looks likely for the next generation car.
Prices for the new Qashqai is expected to start below £30,000 (29.66 lakh rupees).
