2015 Renault Sandero RS - Rendering

To be unveiled at the 2015 Buenos Aires Motor Salon.

This year Renault will be introducing the first ever RenaultSport model in Brazil and Russia; markets where models from the French manufacturer's Skunkworks division are not sold, but has good growth potential. The first model will be based on the popular Renault Sandero, and will be badged as the Renault Sandero RS.

The Sandero RS adopts sportier deep bumpers, with LED DRLs integrated in the front bumper.

Car and Driver Brasil have made a near-accurate rendering of the Renault Sandero RS, based on a teaser video posted by Renault Brasil.

The Sandero RS adopts sportier deep bumpers, with LED DRLs integrated in the front bumper, as well as a RS badge underneath the Renault lozenge in the black mesh grille.

Coming to the back, it sports smoked taillamps, a not-so-subtle spoiler, and a chrome-finished twin pipe exhaust system.

At the side, the Sandero RS gets black side mirror caps, extended side sills, and 16-inch alloy rims finished in black and wrapped in low-profile tires. Coming to the back, it sports smoked taillamps, a not-so-subtle spoiler, and a chrome-finished twin pipe exhaust system.

Inside, the Renault Sandero RS comes with exclusive features such as body hugging seats (not Recaro seats as normally equipped in other RS models), contrast red stitching for the steering wheel and seats, a Media NAV infotainment system with a touchscreen display, sportier instrument cluster, and drilled aluminum pedals.

Powering the angry Sandero is a 2.0-liter 16v flexi-fuel engine sourced from the local Renault Duster. It is tuned to deliver 160 hp, which is transferred through a six-speed manual transmission to the front wheels, enabling it do 0-100 km/h in just 9 seconds.

The hot hatch will make its world debut at the 2015 Buenos Aires Motor Salon this month, followed by a Brazilian market launch shortly after. Given that the Sandero in Europe is badged as a Dacia, it's unlikely that Renault will introduce the Sandero RS, which could have accompanied other RenaultSport models like the Renault Clio RS and Megane RS.
