Facelifts for Bentley Continental GT range revealed - IAB Report

Will be unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

Bentley has announced facelifts for the Continental GT and Flying Spur range, which will be publicly revealed at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The facelift ushers a slew of new visual and technical upgrades that will keep the brand's best selling model range updated.

The Bentley Continental GT range features a restyled front fascia with a smaller mesh grille and "more pronounced" front fenders

On the design front, the facelifted Bentley Continental GT range features a restyled front fascia with a smaller mesh grille and "more pronounced" front fenders, which help improve its road presence. The 2-door Continental GT finally gets the "Flying B" side intake from the Flying Spur, and a distinctive "power line" that begins from the front arches and runs across the side profile.

Changes at the rear include a sculpted bootlid that features a subtle spoiler at the trailing edge, a wider rear bumper with a chrome bar running across it, and a new diffuser for the high-performance variants (V8 S and GT Speed). The base models now come standard with new 20-inch alloy rims, while the higher variants come with new 21-inch rims.

The Continental GT range now comes with a slightly restyled steering wheel, bigger gear paddles, and new WiFi hotspot system.

For both the Continental GT and Flying Spur, Bentley has slightly redesigned the 3-spoke steering wheel which is now "more ergonomic and sports-orientated”. It also has bigger shift paddles, new analog dials for the instrument cluster, and LED lighting for the cabin. The centre console features a new black gear lever surround, and hidden storage compartment between the rear seats for V8 and V8 S variants. The only multimedia upgrade is the addition of an onboard WiFi system.

Technical upgrades include a power bump for the Continental GT W12, which houses a twin turbo 6.0-liter W12 motor producing 590 hp and 720 Nm of peak torque (30 hp and 20 Nm increase over the previous model). The W12 variants of the Flying Spur and Continental GT now come with variable displacement system, enabling the engine to run on 6 of its 12 cylinders to improve fuel efficiency, when power is not required.

Deliveries are expected to take place this summer.
