2016 Kia Forte Koup (facelift) spotted in South Korea - Spied
The facelifted Kia Forte Koup should go on sale by H1 2016.
The Kia Forte Koup, also known as the Kia K3 Koup and Kia Cerato Koup, is set to receive a facelift. The sedan version was given a facelift just last month in Korea and so, the coupe shouldn't be very long from downloading the same updates. The facelifted model has been spotted with camouflage in South Korea ahead of its expected market launch by H1 2016.
With the North American-spec 2016 Kia Forte sedan likely debuting at the 2016 North American International Motor Show next month, its coupe version could debut at the 2016 New York International Auto Show in Detroit in April. Changes should mainly involve tweaks to the lights and bumpers and new wheel design.
Not much is expected to change under the bonnet as it is already well-packed in that aspect. For the U.S. market, the 2015 Kia Forte Koup is available with two gasoline engine options - a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit that produces 173 hp and 154 lb.-ft. (209 Nm) of torque, and a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit that produces 201 hp and 195 lb.-.ft. (264 Nm) of torque.
Two transmission choices are available with both engines - 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic, and are likely to serve the facelift untouched.
