Will get the optional petrol-electric variant.
In China, the first generation Peugeot 3008 received a facelift recently, but in Europe, Peugeot is launching the all-new second generation Peugeot 3008 this year. The new generation model isn't too far from being officially introduced, as it was recently spied during the shooting of its promotionals in Barcelona.
A speculative rendering here from Auto Moto previews the 2016 Peugeot 3008. The French publication says that the all-new 3008 will be officially revealed on 23 May.
The Euro-spec 2016 Peugeot 3008 features a bold new exterior design inspired by that of the Peugeot Quartz Concept that was shown at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. An official image that leaked last month revealed that the interior is also drawn from the Quartz Concept. The second generation Peugeot 3008 is based on the PSA Group’s EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform 2) platform.

Along with conventional Euro 6 petrol and diesel engines, Peugeot will also offer a plug-hybrid powertrain, but the latter will become available only in 2019. The hybrid variant will be a petrol-electric car, and there are no plans to offer a diesel-electric powertrain this time. The Euro-spec 3008 will continue being built in Sochaux, France when it enters its second generation.
