2017 Skoda Octavia likely to go on sale in India in July - Report
Dealers are now accepting bookings.
The Skoda Octavia received a facelift internationally last October and is currently undergoing road testing in India. According to a report from Autocar India, the new Octavia's launch in India is likely to take place in July.
The Skoda Octavia's biggest change in the mid-cycle update is its new front fascia which adopts split headlamps reminiscent of the old Mercedes E-Class models with "four eyes". International customers can specify full LED lighting, but we are yet to know the features picked for India. Other exterior changes include full-width chrome slat on the air dam grille, more angular radiator grille, restyled bumpers and LED tail lights with new graphics.
A new three-spoke steering wheel and an Amundsen 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system in a premium glass design are the noteworthy cabin changes. The new infotainment system features 2.5D navigation, Wi-Fi connectivity, USB input, two SD card slots and SmartLink+ for smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink.
The 2017 Skoda Octavia is not expected to bring anything new to the engine and transmission. The current model is available with 110 kW (150 PS) 1.4-litre TSI petrol (6-MT), 132 kW (180 PS) 1.8-litre TSI petrol (7-DSG automatic) and 105 kW (143 PS) 2.0-litre TDI diesel (6-MT/6-DSG automatic) engines.

The mighty Skoda Octavia RS is set to return to India with the facelift, but that will happen at a later date, reportedly around Diwali (October-November). The RS variant planned for our market will sport the 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine tuned to produce 169 kW (230 PS) and 350 Nm of torque. This engine is available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed DSG transmissions internationally, but Skoda India will likely import only the DSG model.
