2017 Suzuki Wagon R at the Tokyo Motor Show - Live
Suzuki is showcasing the 2017 Suzuki Wagon R at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. The company launched the all-new Suzuki WagonR in Japan in February this year.
The fully redesigned JDM-spec Suzuki WagonR is available in two styling iterations. The one seen in the images is the simpler one of the two. The 2017 Suzuki WagonR is 3,395 mm long, 1,475 mm wide and 1,650 mm tall. The new generation WagonR rides on Suzuki’s new lightweight and rigid Heartect platform that underpins much bigger cars such as the Baleno and Swift.
The micro hatchback is available with only one engine - R06A 0.66-litre VVT petrol. The naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine produces 52 PS at 6,500 rpm and 60 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission sends power to the wheels. A 4WD system is available optionally.
The lack of the ‘Hybrid’ badge on the display car’s fenders and the tailgate means that it is the FA grade model which doesn’t have the mild hybrid system.
LED headlamps, 14-inch alloy wheels, aerodynamic bumpers, side underbody spoilers, roof spoiler, leather-wrapped steering wheel, head-up display, sound system with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, around view monitor and Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS) system are the key features of the 2017 Suzuki Wagon R.
The 2017 Suzuki WagonR’s prices start at JP¥10,68,920 (INR 6,09,088.98). Suzuki builds the JDM-spec version at the Kosai Plant in Japan.
