Based on the top-end Land Cruiser 5.7L VXE.
At the ongoing 2016 Oman International Motor Show, Toyota Middle East is showcasing the 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser TRD, which is based on the top-end Land Cruiser 5.7L VXE. It features exclusive TRD accessories both outside and inside that refine the bold appearance of the Land Cruiser.
The exterior is decked with TRD Gray Metallic front and rear bumper garnish, red TRD metal skid plate, Gray Metallic TRD body cladding over fenders, exclusive 18-inch TRD Design alloy wheels, chrome side protection moulding, aluminium side step with cover, and TRD-branded chrome-finished exhaust tips at the back.
Inside, the only features exclusive to the Land Cruiser TRD are a red color start/stop button and carbon fibre TRD interior panel set. It carries over the regular Land Cruiser VXE's feature list, which includes dual zone climate control, 9-inch AVN with Bluetooth and six speakers, 10.2 inch roof mounted DVD player, electrochromic IRVM, Optitron instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch multi-info display, leather upholstery, and power-operated driver and passenger seats.
Under the hood is a 5.7L naturally aspirated V8 petrol engine with dual VVT-i paired with an 8-speed multi-mode auto transmission, which produces 362 hp and 54 kg.m of peak torque. The Land Cruiser TRD comes exclusively equipped with a TRD suspension kit tuned for desert driving, and the ride height has been increased by 25 mm.
