The 2018 Ford Mustang, which debuted at the NAIAS in January 2017, has been displayed at the ongoing 2018 Thai Motor Expo. The latest iteration of the legendary pony car has been on sale in Thailand at a starting price of 3,599,000 baht (INR 76,25,671).

While the 2018 Ford Mustang (facelift) has been on sale in international markets, it's yet to make it to India officially, with some getting it delivered as private imports.

The mid-cycle refresh for the sixth-gen Mustang features several minor styling changes, which work together to make the car more aggressive. The front-end carries a set of sharper headlamps with the signature tri-slat LED DRLs. Other updates include a lower bonnet profile with integrated air vents, refreshed lower grille, restyled bumper and new turn signals. The side profile features new 19-inch forged alloy wheels. Changes to the rear include C-shaped tri-bar taillights and a new bumper.

On the inside, the 2018 Ford Mustang features a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and a hand-stitched, soft-touch wrap for the centre console. The instrument cluster surround and door handles feature an aluminium finish. The latest version of the iconic muscle car has also received new driver assistance and safety technologies. The facelift offers Adaptive Cruise Control and Distance Alert, Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keeping Aid.

The Thailand-spec 2018 Ford Mustang is available with two petrol engine options - 2.3-litre EcoBoost and 5.0-litre V8. The former outputs a maximum power of 290 PS while the latter produces 450 PS. The V8 engine offers 29 PS more than before, which is courtesy of a new dual-fuel, high-pressure direct injection and low-pressure port fuel injection system. A 10-speed automatic transmission has replaced the 6-speed automatic transmission.

If launched here, the 2018 Ford Mustang (facelift) will be available only with the 450 PS 5.0-litre V8 engine.

In comparison to the 6-speed unit, the 10-speed transmission offers quicker shift times, better low-speed tip-in response and significantly reduced friction losses. The 2018 Ford Mustang also features updated shock absorbers, a stiffer rear suspension setup with a cross-axis joint, thicker anti-roll bars and a new optional MagneRide Damping System.
