First 2018 Peugeot 508 spy shots surface from China
Expected to go on sale in 2018.
The original Peugeot 508 debuted in 2010 and is due for a complete makeover next year. In the latest, auto.sohu.com has published what it claims are spy shots of the 2018 Peugeot 508, giving the first look at the second generation model's roofline and boot.
From the front to the rear, the second generation Peugeot 508 will be completely new in looks, with the design inspired by the Peugeot Exalt concept that was introduced at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show and later in an updated avatar at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The all-new D-segment saloon may have derivatives in the form of an estate and the estate's rugged, adventure variant.
The next-gen Peugeot 508 will be underpinned by the PSA Group's EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform 2) platform. The all-new model could have a lot of commonality with the recently introduced Peugeot 5008 in terms of interior design and equipment, engines, transmissions and more, as both belong to the same segment.
The highlight of the 2018 Peugeot 508 will be its autonomous driving capabilities. It has been reported that the next-gen Peugeot 508 will be the PSA Group's first production car to have autonomous driving features.
