2018 Suzuki Jimny spotted in different colours ready for showrooms
The 2018 Suzuki Jimny is ready to reach Japanese dealerships next month. Twitter user mogu_12 has posted images of a batch of all-new Suzuki Jimnys lined-up, in different colours.
The all-new Suzuki Jimny is the fourth generation of the celebrated Japanese UV. The redesigned model looks boxier and less aerodynamic but is in line with the latest Suzuki family. Like its predecessor, a ladder-frame chassis supports the body. It has a 3-link rigid axle suspension and a part-time 4WD system with low-range transfer gear. 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic will be the transmission choices.
The 2018 Suzuki Jimny measures 3,475 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width and up to 1,715 mm in height. It has a 2,250 mm wheelbase and a 200 mm ground clearance. Power comes from a 0.66-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 64 PS at 6,500 rpm and 103 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. This is the Japan-only Kei car version.
The 2018 Suzuki Jimny Sierra, to be sold globally, is 3,550 mm long, 1,645 mm wide and 1,730 mm high. It offers a 10 mm extra ground clearance. Also, it packs a bigger engine - the K15B 1.5-litre VVT. This four-cylinder petrol unit delivers 102 PS at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
