India Yamaha Motor (IYM) has launched the FZS FI of Yamaha FZS v2 2018 range with a rear disc brake. The bike comes in Armada Blue colour and costs INR 86,042, ex-showroom, Delhi.
The Yamaha FZS-FI of Yamaha FZS v2 2018 comes with a new alloy wheel design, and new rear-view mirrors as well. Yamaha has launched the bike at the onset of commemorating 10 years of the FZ series’ presence in the country. Speaking on the launch, Mr. Roy Kurian, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said:

The FI version of Yamaha FZS 2018 gets an FZ ‘Shield’ logo on the fuel tank and the Tuning Fork logo on the tank extensions. The FZ-S logo is present on the tail section. Instead of a rear drum brake, the 2018 Yamaha FZ-S FI comes with a 220 mm rear disc unit. The front end has a 282 mm disc. ABS is absent.
Yamaha FZS-FI of the Yamaha FZS v2 2018 continues with the same 149 cc single-cylinder mill with fuel injection. The SOHC 2-valve engine makes 13.2 PS of power at 8,000 rpm, and 12.8 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The powerplant works in tandem with a 5-speed gearbox. The instrument cluster is all-digital, and gets an Eco indicator lamp as well. This motorcycle is INR 3,000 more expensive than the standard variant.
