2018 Yamaha R25 reportedly spied in Indonesia for the first time
The 2018 iteration of Yamaha’s flagship quarter-litre faired motorcycle, the Yamaha R25 has been reportedly spied in Indonesia. Draped in all-black, the 2018 Yamaha R25 looks identical to the current generation R25 sold in the country, going by the spy-shot angle. It is likely that the new model will receive only minor visual changes.
The bike retains the twin ‘Predator’ headlamps and the fairing design. The 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and monoshock at the rear handle the suspension duties. The bike features disc brakes on both ends, and ABS is likely to be an option, just like the current generation R25.

A 250cc DOHC 8-valve engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection sits inside the diamond type frame in the current generation bike. The powerplant is capable of producing 36 PS of power at 12,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. The engine works in tandem with a 6-speed gearbox. The seat height stands at 780 mm and the bike tips the scales at 166 kg. The fuel tank is capable of holding 14 litres of juice.
On to the instrumentation, the bike features an analogue-digital combo cluster with shift timing light. The current generation R25 is sold at a price of Rp. 56,200,000, OTR (On The Road) Jakarta. Expect the 2018 Yamaha R25 to command a slight premium over the current bike. The bike will rival the Honda CBR 250RR and the upcoming 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 250.
