An IAB reader has shared fresh spy shots of the 2019 Hyundai Santro (Hyundai AH2), revealing new features of its range-topping grade.

The top-end 2019 Hyundai Santro features a large touchscreen infotainment system (that reportedly supports Android Auto & Apple CarPlay) and what looks like a monochrome MID as well.

IAB’s exclusive spy shots reveal that Hyundai will offer a reverse parking camera and a large touchscreen infotainment system. Seemingly in an ‘Acid Yellow’-like body colour, the feature list of the reborn Hyundai Santro will include ORVMs with integrated turn signals as well.

To meet the more stringent safety norms that come into effect in 2019, Hyundai may offer ABS, driver airbag, speed alert system, driver and co-driver SBR and manual override for central locking system as standard in the launch spec. The company is going to sell the car in five grades: Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (O) and Asta. The Asta grade's safety kit should include front fog lamps, impact sensing door unlock, rear parking sensors and rear-view camera.

Hyundai’s R&D centre in India and South Korea have worked together on bringing back the Santro to life. The first-gen i10 has donated its platform for this model, while the engine is from the Santro Xing. Reports say that the 1.1-litre naturally aspirated petrol mill will produce 69 PS and 99 Nm of torque. It will return a fuel economy of 20.3 km/l, and that’s an ARAI-certified figure, also as per reports. Transmission choices will include 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual (Smart Auto).

The 2019 Hyundai AH2's prices could start at over INR 4 lakh (ex-showroom).
