2019 Porsche Macan vs 2014 Porsche Macan - Old vs New
To revitalise one of its best selling models in their history, Porsche has unveiled a refreshed Macan for MY2019. The new sports crossover will go on sale in China first, followed by other global markets later this year. Read below for a pictorial comparison between the facelifted and outgoing versions.
Exterior: Old vs New
From a first glance at the front and sides, nothing seems to have been changed. But a closer look reveals new LED headlights with the signature four-LED lights, enlarged intakes flanking the central grille, and sleek LED strips that also function as turn indicators. The only changes to the sides are the new wheel options available.
Only a glance of the rear will help people realise that it is indeed the new Macan, featuring new LED taillights that run across the tailgates length. Like the 718 series, Cayenne and Panamera, the Macan's taillights have 3D elements with the Porsche lettering boldly spread across.
Interior: Old vs New
More dramatic are the changes inside the Macan, especially around the centre console area. It receives Porsche's new 11-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is so wide that it has pushed down the HVAC vents below it. Otherwise, most of the apparent changes are related to the new interior trim and colour combinations.
Apart from the touchscreen system, other new tech introduced include heated front windshield, air ioniser for the climate control and a new Traffic Jam Assist allows for semi-autonomous driving, including automated acceleration, braking, and steering, at speeds up to 37 miles per hour (60 km/h).
Powertrain: Old vs New
Porsche hasn't detailed any new changes to the engine or gearbox options. The outgoing Macan came with a 2.0-litre turbocharged, 3.0-litre twin-turbo and 3.6-litre twin-turbo petrol engines, all paired to a 7-speed PDK gearbox as standard. The diesel variant won't make a return in the facelifted version.
