Last week, clear spy images of the Yamaha Xabre 150 facelift (Yamaha M-Slaz facelift) surfaced online, courtesy of Iwanbanaran. Based on the pictures and reports, we can confirm the bike will receive cosmetic as well as mechanical upgrades. The facelift gets a mature design that is in line with the MT-series design language. It features a lowered tail section with a single-piece seat, a muscular fuel tank with tank extensions, and a radiator cover.
The new Xabre 150 will get an updated ‘dragonfly-like’ LED headlamp with integrated bug-eyed LED pilot lamps. The motorcycle shares the chassis, suspension components and wheels with the current-generation model.
The Xabre 150 is the naked streetfighter version of the 2019 Yamaha YZF-R15. Powering the current-gen is a 149 cc, single-cylinder, four-valve engine with liquid-cooling. The FI engine works in tandem with a 6-speed gearbox and produces a maximum power of 16 bhp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 14.3 Nm at 7,500 rpm. Anchorage is provided by a 267 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear rotor with radially mounted brake callipers. The bike features 37 mm inverted forks at the front and a preload adjustable mono-shock at the back.
The 2019 Yamaha Xabre 150 (Yamaha M-Slaz facelift) is expected to employ a new 155 cc engine from the new Yamaha R15 V3.0. The 155 cc, single-cylinder, fuel injected motor features VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) and is capable of producing 19 bhp of maximum power and 14.8 Nm of peak torque on the R15. The liquid-cooled engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission with a standard slipper clutch.
