2020 Suzuki V-Strom 1100 teased ahead of EICMA debut [Video]
As we come closer to the 2019 EICMA motorcycle show, manufacturers continue to drop the teaser images and videos of their upcoming products. Until now, we have seen teaser videos of the 2020 KTM 1290 Super Duke R and the Aprilia RS 660 among others. Now, Suzuki has dropped the teaser video of its upcoming motorcycle, the V-Strom 1100 (V-Strom 1000 successor) adventure tourer.

For starters, the upcoming Suzuki V-Strom adventure tourer will have a displacement bump. The updated model will feature close to 1,100 cc of displacement as against 1,037 cc on the current (Euro-IV) compliant version. Suzuki is not the only manufacturer to opt for the higher displacement strategy for the emission norm compliance upgrade. Honda has already bumped up the displacement of the new Africa Twin. Triumph Motorcycles, too, will increase the engine size of the middleweight Tiger models from 800 cc on the current version to almost 900 cc on the Euro-V compliant variant.
The Euro-IV compliant Suzuki V-Strom 1000 uses a 1,037 cc V-Twin cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that makes 99 bhp of peak power and 103 Nm of maximum torque. The updated model should deliver relatively better numbers.
Apart from the mechanical upgrades, Suzuki will undertake styling revision exercise for the updated model. The video reveals a revised front fascia that features a Suzuki Katana style LED headlight that adds an aggressive look to the visuals. The updated headlight setup is accompanied by a redesigned windscreen. The front fascia retains the beak-style design with the dual-tone finish. The fairing has received upgrades, with a more pronounced cover on sides of the radiator for a refreshed look. The side and the rear panels, too, have undergone changes on the upcoming model.
The outdated, semi-digital instrument console is history, and the upcoming Suzuki V-Strom 1100 will be equipped a fully digital display. Although unconfirmed, the updated display should benefit from Bluetooth connectivity function.
The motorcycle in the teaser video is the XT version of the V-Strom family and thus features tubeless tyre compatible wire-spoke wheels. A similar wire-spoke layout is also available on the V-Strom 650 XT. Other hardware specifications will include inverted front forks, rear mono-shock, disc brakes on both wheels (twin rotors at the front, single at back), dual-channel ABS and split-style seats.
