2020 Suzuki V-Strom 250 launched in Japan at JPY 5,70,240

Suzuki has introduced the 2020 Suzuki V-Strom 250 in Japan at JPY 5,70,240 (INR 3.82 lakhs) for the non-ABS variant and JPY 6,02,640 (INR 4.04 lakhs) for the ABS variant. The changes in the new model are limited only to colour and graphics upgrade. The prices are also the same as those of the MY2019 model.

The new Pearl Nebula Black/High Tech Silver Metallic shade will be available only in the ABS variant of the 2020 Suzuki V-Strom 250.

The 2020 Suzuki V-Strom 250 will be retailed in a new twin shade ‘Pearl Nebula Black/High Tech Silver Metallic’ shade. However, this option is only available with ABS. This option includes a red coloured V-Strom badging on the beak as well as a red coloured strip. The headlamp rim gets a chrome rim. The fuel tank is also styled with new stickers along with red rim stickers. Also introduced is a ‘Triton Blue Metallic No.2’ option.

Besides that, ‘Diamond Red Metallic’ colour has been discontinued. ‘Pearl Nebula Black’ and ‘Pearl Nebular Black/Solid Dazzling Cool Yellow’ shades have been retained. The ABS version gets a shorter heat shield on the silencer and a smaller knuckle guard. Sales of 2020 Suzuki V-Strom 250 ABS version in Japan will begin on August 26, 2019. However, the standard trim will be available from 23 August 2019.

At the heart of the Suzuki V-Strom 250 is the same 248 cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder, SOHC unit. This powerplant also does duty in the recently launched 2020 Suzuki GSX250R. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, the engine can produce 24 PS of power and 22 Nm of torque. The ABS version tips the scales at 189 kg, while the standard trim is a kilo lighter. The engine has a claimed fuel efficiency of 31.6 km/l. The Euro-spec version produces 25 PS of power and 23.4 Nm of torque.

The Suzuki V-Strom 250 is suspended over standard telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike has a 17-litre fuel tank and a ground clearance of 160 mm. Besides that, the Suzuki V-Strom 250 gets disc brakes and a 140-section rear tyre. Other features include digital instrumentation and several optional accessories.

Powering the Suzuki V-Strom 250 is a 248 cc engine, which produces 24 PS of power and 22 Nm of torque.

Back home, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 has been launched at INR 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Also, the Japanese bike maker is expected to introduce a new quarter-litre single-cylinder adventure tourer for India.
