Abarth 695 Biposto, Biposto Record, 595 Yamaha Factory edition – 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show
Abarth claims that the 695 Biposto is the smallest supercar.
Abarth has showcased three cars at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. These are Abarth 695 Biposto, Abarth 695 Biposto Record and Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition.
First up is the Abarth 695 Biposto painted in Matte Grey, which the company calls the smallest supercar. The front gets the signature round headlamps and high-mounted fog lamps. The bumper gets carbon-fiber inserts and a large radiator grille with meshed air intakes. Side profile has prominent wheel arches, side skirts and 18-inch OZ rims. The rear features carbon-fiber extractors, roof spoiler, rear diffuser and Akrapovic exhaust system.
The interior gets anatomical seats with carbon-fiber shell wrapped in Alcantara. The cabin is also endowed with rear roll bar, cargo net for baggage and four-point seat belts by Sabelt.
The Biposto is powered by a 1.4 T-Jet engine producing 190 hp and 250 Nm of torque at 3000 rpm. The overall weight is just 997 kg and affords the car a 0 -100 kmph time of 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 230 kmph. The 695 Biposto features a dog ring gearbox with racing derived controls, and a self-blocking differential which is claimed to be fitted for the first time on a street legal car.
Next is the Abarth 695 Biposto Record that is limited to 133 units. It celebrates the 50th anniversary of setting the “1000 single-seater record” Class G at Monza set by Carlo Abarth. The exterior signifies this achievement by getting a 'Modena Yellow' livery embellished with 'Tar Cold Grey' titanium treatment for the front whisker, door handles and tailgate handle.
There is a '695 Record' badge that is affixed to the side and on the aluminium bonnet. 18-inch rims, oversized Brembo brakes and Akrapovic exhaust complete the exterior description. The interior features instrument panel animation, carbon shell seats and a numbered plate. The Record edition gains a mechanical self-locking differential combined to a manual gearbox.
Last but not the least is the Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition. This model has been made in partnership with Yamaha. The version showcased had a white livery, 17-inch matte black alloy rims, red brake calipers and Abarth stripes on the doors.
The cabin comes equipped with flat-bottom leather steering wheel, leather seats and aluminium pedals. Automatic climate control system and parking sensors are some of the equipment that enhance overall comfort.
Power is sourced from the turbocharged 1.4-liter engine that generates 160 hp. Official figures have not been released but the model is expected to sprint from 0-100 kmph in less than 7.9 seconds with a top speed around of 209 km/h.
