Hero Xtreme 200S – INR 98,400*
The recently launched Hero Xtreme 200S is the first model in our list of 5 most affordable fully faired motorcycles on sale in India. The latest product from Hero MotoCorp is nothing short of a masterstroke by the Munjals. Hero Motocorp utilised the existing platform of Xtreme 200R by slapping on a fairing and stiffening up the front suspension a bit. The powerplant is a 199.6cc single cylinder mill which uses a basic SOHC setup with 2-valves. Output stands at 18.4 PS and a17.1 Nm. While other 200cc motorcycles are all about performance with premium parts, Hero Xtreme 200S is all about democratising motorcycles which are not pure-bred commuters. So instead of a fancy slipper clutch and multiple spark plugs, what the Xtreme 200S gets are usable features. Say hello to an LED headlamp and digital instrumentation with smartphone connectivity for call/SMS alerts and navigation assist.
Braking duties are taken care of by discs at both ends. However, Hero’s first fully faired motorcycle since the Karizma ZMR gets only a single channel ABS. Colour options are limited only to 3 options. Besides that, India’s most affordable fully faired motorcycle is the amazing amount of support and service you can get from Hero’s large service network.

Other features include LED headlamps, aluminium swingarm, slipper clutch and dual-channel ABS. The large R1 inspired instrumentation has big readouts and even gets a shift light. The high revving 155cc engine can produce 19.3 PS of power and 14.7 Nm of torque. Brakes include a 282 mm disc up front and a 220 mm disc in the rear. Dual channel ABS further adds to the safety net.
