Aprilia’s latest and most affordable scooter in the Indian market, the Storm 125, has started to arrive at dealerships following its launch on 30 May. YouTube channel Dino’s Vault has a new video of the onboard footage of the Storm 125 that captures its acceleration and top speed.

As seen in the video, the 125 cc scooter crosses a 100 km/h mark almost effortlessly before crossing a top-speed of over 120 km/h. All figures are speedometer-indicated. Equipped with a combi-braking system, the scooter sheds speed safely. The knobby tyres and bold graphics give it a rugged look. The YouTuber can be seen riding the Storm 125 over the loose surface for a brief time.
Mechanical specifications are shared with the SR 125. A 124.49 cc air-cooled engine that makes 9.52 bhp at 7,250 rpm and a 9.9 Nm at 6,250 rpm propels the Storm 125. Stopping power comes from drum brakes (150 mm front/140 mm rear) for now. A front disc brake option could be introduced in the future. The Storm 125 that was displayed at Auto Expo 2018 was equipped with this feature.
The Storm 125 was launched in the country in the last week of May 2019 at INR 65,000 (ex-showroom Pan-India). Targeted at young buyers, the 125 cc Aprilia competes with the likes of TVS Ntorq 125 (INR 58,252*) and Honda Grazia (INR 60,723*). Unlike some of its rivals, the Storm 125 comes with a full analogue instrument console. Surprisingly, the fuel gauge meter features SR badge instead of Storm 125 logo.

The Storm 125 is available in matte yellow and matte red colour options. The matte paint is further enhanced by bold graphics. Styling features include an apron-mounted headlight, fibre panel on the handlebar in a black finish and 12-inch wheels that are shod in Vee Rubber tyres. Shock absorption tasks are performed by telescopic front forks and single-sided shock absorber at the back. The scooter was showcased with a tall windscreen at Auto Expo 2018. The windshield should be available as part of the optional accessory via the Aprilia showrooms.
