Aprilia Storm 125 drum brake variant spied
The Aprilia Storm 125 was introduced with a disc brake (front) at Auto Expo 2018. New images that surfaced online last week show it with a drum brake at the front.

The company is yet to add the product on its India website, and thus, the full technical specifications are not available. The spied scooter was missing the rear-view mirrors although it was seen with a full-size pillion grab rail – an accessory that was not displayed at the 2018 Auto Expo. Apart from the pillion grab rail and the drum brake setup, all details were identical to the scooter from the Auto Expo, including the matte paint and the bold graphics on the apron and the side panels.
The Aprilia Storm 125 will be available in three colour options – red, yellow and black. The scooter, as reported last month, will have an introductory price of INR 65,000 (ex-showroom Pan India)*, making it the most affordable Aprilia in the country. The launch was initially scheduled for 2018 but postponed due to the unsold inventory of the Aprilia SR125.
As compared to the standard SR125, the Storm 125 features 12-inch wheels that are wrapped in knobby tyres. The scooter was displayed with several accessories, including a tall windscreen at Auto Expo 2018 and all the optional extras would be available at the showrooms.
Mechanical specifications will include a 124.49 cc engine that churns out 9.51 bhp of power at 7,250 rpm and 9.8 Nm of peak torque at 6,250 rpm. Braking setup will most likely include drum brakes on both wheels as standard and a combination of a disc brake (front) and a drum brake (rear) as an option. The safety net of the combi-braking system will come as standard. Telescopic forks at the front and a single-sided spring at the rear perform suspension duties.

With its matte paint and bold graphics, the Aprilia Storm 125 will be targeted at a young audience, and thus, be a TVS Ntorq 125 rival. The 125 cc product from TVS retails at INR 65,010 (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
