Ashok Leyland is all set to launch its Avia range of trucks in India and we have the spyshots of one testing in Chennai.

The Avia range of trucks come with Cummins engines. The trucks will be built at Ashok Leyland's Pantnagar plant launched in early 2010.

Avia is a Czech based truck maker with a strong presence in the eastern part of Europe. The company was bought by Ashok Leyland in 2006 and under the new ownership, the brand expanded to other international markets like the Middle East, Russia, Asia and South America.

Earlier this year, Ashok Leyland announced that the Avia range of trucks will be launched in India this July. Seen here are the spyshots of an Avia truck sent in by our eagle eyed reader Achyuth.

The Avia trucks offer a series of cargo haulers whose payload range from 6.5 to 12 tonnes. The trucks are powered by Euro-5 compliant Cummins diesel engines with power outputs of 160 bhp to 207 bhp. And you get air conditioned cabin.

The Avia trucks for the Indian market will be manufactured at Ashok Leyland's Pantnagar facility in Uttarakhand. The annual production capacity of the plant stands at 30,000 units.

The Avia comes with air conditioned cabin. Some of the variants come with 4x4 system too.

The Ashok Leyland Avia trucks are expected to complement Ashok Leyland's current commercial vehicle range.
