Bajaj Pulsar NS125 CBS to be launched in India by the year-end - Report

Bajaj has some exciting plans lined up for the CT, Platina and Pulsar brands, Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto, revealed in a recent interview. While we await more details on that front, a report from Thrust Zone claims that the company is preparing to launch the Pulsar NS125 in India.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS125 would reportedly arrive in India in the third quarter of the current fiscal. The motorcycle is already available in Poland.

The Bajaj NS125, the smallest Bajaj NS model, may not be part of the upgrade that Rajiv Bajaj has confirmed for June 2019. The source report says that it will arrive in the Indian market by the third quarter (October-December) of the current financial year.

The Pulsar NS125 is already available in Poland, for a price of PLN 7,999 (INR 1.58 lakh). Here, it will fill the void of the Bajaj LS135. Upgrading the Pulsar 135LS with ABS would be a costly affair. The Pulsar NS125, with its sub-125 cc displacement, would require a combi-braking system (CBS) that is much affordable than ABS.

Mechanical specifications include a 124.45 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, DTS-i engine with fuel injection, which would make BS-VI upgrade relatively easier. As reported in the past, all BS-VI compliant two-wheelers would feature fuel-injected motors. In the current form, this engine produces 12 PS at 8,500 rpm and 11 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. It is coupe to a 5-speed gearbox. Anchoring department includes a 240 mm single disc brake at the front and a 130 mm drum unit at the rear. The motorcycle, if launched in India, would come with a single-channel ABS.

Hardware specifications include conventional telescopic forks at the front and twin-sided Nitrox shock absorber at the back.

In terms of styling, the Pulsar NS125 looks almost similar to the Pulsar LS135. It features a sharp design for the headlight, a dual tone mask and a fly-screen. A semi-digital instrument console comprising an analogue tachometer and a digital display shows all the ride related information. It is surrounded by a carbon-fibre textured panel that lends the cockpit a sporty look. Other highlights include fuel tank shrouds for a muscular look, split seat design and twin grab rails.

The Pulsar NS125 already features a fuel injection system which would make the BS-VI upgrade relatively easier. The safety net would include single-channel ABS.
