UK - Bentley Continental GT3-R limited edition introduced

The Bentley Continental GT3-R limited edition, inspired by the Continental GT3 race car that won the second round of Blancpain Endurance Series in Silverstone, has been introduced.

This year's Silverstone round of Blancpain Endurance Series is Bentley's first race in the UK in 84 years and the limited edition commemorates this occasion. Limited to just 300 examples, the Crewe-based luxury marque claims that the GT3-R is the rarest and the most dynamic member of the Continental family.

The Bentley Continental GT3-R can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.

The racing machine inspired Continental GT3-R is a good 100 kg lighter than the Continental GT V8 S. In addition, the limited edition Bentley is benefited by a retuned version of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine which plays host to 572 horses. The motor develops a torque of 700 Nm which is sent to all four wheels via Bentley's revised all-wheel drive system which integrates torque vectoring for the first time.

The aforementioned enhancements combined with a shorter final ratio help the GT3-R to reach 100 km/h from rest in a scant 3.8 seconds, making it the fastest accelerating production Bentley ever! The suspension and ESP has been tuned for a more agile turn-in. Braking power comes from Carbon Silicon Carbide discs with green painted calipers.

Visually, the Bentley Continental GT3-R can be recognized by the Glacier White paint with carbon fibre contrasts and two-tone green body decals. Other highlights include new carbon fibre front splitter, fixed rear wing, bonnet air vents, gloss black treatment for headlamp bezel, window surrounds, grille and bumper strips, and 21-inch alloy wheels.

The interior gets green highlighting to signify Bentley's connection with motorsport.

The hand-trimmed interior employs topnotch materials like carbon fibre, diamond-quilted Alcantara and Beluga black leather with dashes of Bentley's Motorsport Green accents.

Order books are open now with deliveries scheduled in late 2014. Bentley hasn't announced the pricing but has promised free standard servicing for four years (at 10,000, 20,000 and 30,000 mile marks).

More details are available in the press release below. Note that Bentley has not specified if this vehicle will launch in India.
