BMW G310R spied in India, local launch still not confirmed
BMW G310R will get dual channel ABS as standard.
The BMW G310R has been spotted in India uncamouflaged by a Rushlane reader. The motorcycle is the European specification and not the updated version showcased at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2017.
The unit in Bangkok had a different taillamp, longer indicators and new handlebar grips. Competing against the KTM Duke 390, the BMW G310R will have to come with a competitive price tag even though the BMW badge gives Motorrad leeway to charge a premium.
The single cylinder 313 cc liquid-cooled mill has a cylinder head that has been rotated 180°, lowering the centre of gravity and shifting it in the direction of the front wheel. The fuel injected engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox which is capable of producing 34 PS of maximum power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm.

BMW Motorrad commenced its India operations officially earlier in April this year. In phase one they announced dealerships in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune. The model line-up in India includes sports, tour, heritage roadster and adventure with a price range between INR 14.90 lakhs and INR 28.50 lakhs (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
The BMW G310R is expected to be launched in India later this year, possibly during the festive season.
