BMW M8 Coupe spied in India for the first time
BMW's latest firecracker, the M8, has been spied in India for the first time. The test mule is almost fully covered in camouflage, but the design of the bumpers and the grilles clearly indicate that this is the wild M variant of the 8 Series Coupe.
The BMW 8 Series family comprises a Coupe, a Convertible and a Gran Coupe, and both the 2-door models of them have a high-performance M variant. The Coupe version may come in only the M variant that is seen here. The BMW M8 Coupe makes use of a high-revving 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine which delivers a blistering 441 kW/600 PS of maximum power and 750 Nm of peak torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system are standard. The car takes 3.3 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h and can be raised to 305 km/h by specifying the optional M Driver's Package.
The BMW M8 Coupe benefits from a firmer suspension, sportier exhaust system, unique "Track" drive mode and unique wheels as well. M compound brakes are standard, while M carbon-ceramic brakes can be had optionally. The BMW M8 Coupe is made in even a sportier 'Competition' model. In the M8 Competition Coupe, the 4.4L engine develops 625 PS and 750 Nm of torque. The engine is teamed up with a special engine mounting for a more rigid connection with the car's structure, and this results in even more direct response and immediate transmission of power to the drivetrain. A 0-100 km/h sprint takes 0.1 seconds lesser (3.2 seconds).
