Expected to go on sale during Autumn 2016.

The first brochure scans of the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) Toyota Prius PHV (Toyota Prius Prime in the USA) has surfaced online, courtesy of Minkara. It is expected to go on sale in Japan during Autumn, followed by the USA in late fall (towards December).

The rear-end of the Toyota Prius PHV is nearly similar to the Prius, save for the unique pair of LED taillamps and aggressive slashes on either side of the bumper.

The scan reveals several of the features which have been showcased in the Toyota Prius Prime at the 2016 New York Motor Show in March. It is a step above the revolutionary styling of the regular Toyota Prius, featuring sleek headlights with quad LED elements each, vertical LED DRLs, and an aggressive bumper design that hides a blacked-out grille. The rear-end is nearly similar to the Prius, save for the unique pair of LED taillamps and aggressive slashes on either side of the bumper.

There are also a couple of snippets featuring the interior of the Prius PHV, which comes equipped with a 11.6-inch portrait touchscreen in the centre console and a full colour head-up display. Customers can download an exclusive suite of apps that will manage the car’s charging schedule, charging status and locate charging stations from a mobile device.

Although the specifications for the Toyota Prius PHV haven't been revealed, its U.S counterpart (Toyota Prius Prime) is powered by a 1.8L Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder petrol engine linked to an electric motor and a CVT. The large 8.8 kWh battery pack powering the motor can be charged by plugging in to an external source of power. Toyota claims that it can offer a full-electric driving range of 22 miles (35.4 km) and a combined driving range of over 600 miles (965.6 km).
