BS-VI Mahindra TUV300 spied on test
Mahindra is gearing up to launch several new products in the market such as next-gen Thar, next-gen Scorpio and facelifted TUV300 Plus. Recently, the BS-VI TUV300 was spied undergoing road testing.
While the exteriors of the test mule may be fully camouflaged, it is the same-old boxy looking vehicle underneath. Though the spied images may not provide the clearest view, the relatively unchanged design geometry of the TUV300 isn't hard to figure out. Also, only in May this year it received a subtle visual makeover with its mid-life update. With this update the SUV gained a host of design tweaks such as piano black front grille with black chrome inserts, revised headlamps with carbon black finish and LED DRLs, a skid plate (front), 15-inch grey 10-spoke alloy wheels, wheel arch cladding, a roof-mounted spoiler and an X-shaped metallic grey spare wheel cover.
The motive of this update is to give it a BS-VI unit which will replace the BS-IV 1.5-litre mHawk100 turbocharged three-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 100 PS of maximum power at 3,750 rpm and 240 Nm of peak torque at 1,600-2,800 rpm. With the BS-VI update, the Mahindra TUV300 is expected to pack some extra comfort, convenience and safety features to keep it at par with the segment rivals.
