Cadillac CT6 - Motorshow Focus
Intended to bring greater driver involvement to the large luxury sedan segment.
The Cadillac CT6 was showcased at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show. It made its debut at the 2015 New York International Auto Show.
The CT6 carries the company's design language forward and features sharp and sleek lines. The face has the signature grille and Fire LED headlamps with vertical LED light blades giving it a distinct look. The rear gets vertical LED tail lights and dual exhaust tips at either end.
Cadillac says that the CT6 comes with dynamism that is unmatched in the large luxury vehicle segment. The sedan has been endowed with technologies like active-on-demand all-wheel drive, active rear steering and the acclaimed Magnetic Ride Control system. These coupled with the high-arm multilink short-long arm front suspension and five-link independent rear suspension gives rise to better responsiveness and driver involvement, it says.
The interior has a premium feel to it with an elegant mix of wood, leather and chrome. The seats are covered in premium Opus leather and get five massage programs with the rear captain seats boasting of a reclining function as well. The Cadillac CT6 is loaded with features that enhance comfort and convenience such as Bose Panaray audio system with 34 speakers, 10.2-inch touchscreen CUE infotainment system with touchpad, Quadzone climate control, 10-inch rear seat infotainment system, Night Vision, 360-degree around-view camera and rear-camera mirror.
The bootlid is pasted with the '40T' badge which according to the naming system in use in China refers to the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine. This unit is capable of pumping out 405 hp and 543 Nm of peak torque and is mated exclusively to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
