Will not morph into a production vehicle.

The Chevrolet FNR is an autonomous electric vehicle concept developed by the GM Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) joint venture, that gives a glimpse of what GM thinks is the future of mobility.

The engineering, design and electrification teams at General Motors banked on their past experience developing electric vehicles to realize this concept, and their aim - "a unique, intelligent vehicle for tomorrow’s younger consumers by utilizing innovative car networking technology."

Featuring a "capsule design" the car is stacked with laser headlamps and taillamps, dual swing dragonfly doors, hubless wheel electric motors, and a wireless auto charging system.

The rest of the car, GM says, is from science fiction movies. These are sensors and a roof-mounted radar to map the environment for facilitating driverless operation, Chevy Intelligent Assistant and iris recognition start. The car, like an assistant, can also prompt the best route to get to a destination.

When in self-driving mode, the car's front seats can spin 180 degrees to face the rear seats to make an "intimate setting". Through gestures, the driver can switch between autonomous and manual driving modes.
