Spied in China - Chevrolet Sail facelift gets all-new upmarket interiors
The Chevrolet Sail is in the process of getting a facelift in its home market in China. These latest spyshots from Auto 163 reveal the interiors of the refreshed Sail.
As you can see from these images, designers have comprehensively restyled the interiors of the Sail which now look upmarket compared to the current model. Gone is the cheap-looking steering wheel, and in its place we see a new three-spoke wheel with silver accents.
The instrument cluster is positioned a bit lower and the pods for the speedometer and tachometer are given chrome enclosures. Coming to the center console which also gets a redesign, we notice a new music system with a large LCD display, while the controls for the AC with new knobs are located beneath it .
We expect to see the refreshed Sail premiere at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show which commences for the media on April 20. In India, the Sail hasn't seen the best of sales, with volumes falling from 1,280 units in September 2013 to just 521 units in February 2014.
Along with the refreshed interiors and exteriors, GM India would do well to launch the refreshed Sail with an automated manual transmission (AMT). The AMT system is already available for the Sail in the Chinese market.
