FCA US has announced that it has commenced production of the Chrysler Pacifica, the successor to the Chrysler Town & Country minivan, at its Windsor Assembly Plant in Windsor in Ontario, Canada.

The Chrysler Pacifica is the successor to the Chrysler Town & Country.

Based on all-new platform, the Pacifica has class-leading aerodynamics and the company claims the all-new minivan has class-leading ride and handling.

The Chrysler Pacifica is powered by a new generation 3.6-litre Pentastar naturally aspirated V6 gasoline engine that produces 287 hp and 262 lb.-ft. (355 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via TorqueFlite 9-speed automatic transmission. There's also a plug-in hybrid variant (Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid) featuring two electric motors in combination with the V6 engine engine. The motors are powered by a 16 kWh Lithium-Ion battery and provide a zero-emissions driving range of 30 miles (48 km).

The Chrysler Pacifica has a plug-in hybrid variant also, offering a 30-mile (48-km) pure electric driving range.
