Moscow Live - Datsun mi-DO hatchback
Datsun today unveiled its second Russia-specific model at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show (Moscow International Auto Salon 2014). The Datsun mi-DO hatchback had its global unveiling, with sales set to start in early 2015.
The mi-DO, which is technically a Lada Kalina, shares its 2,476 mm wheelbase with the sedan sibling, the on-DO. In fact, both cars are 1,500 mm tall and 1,700 mm wide, but where the on-DO is 4,337 mm long, the mi-DO measures only 3,950 mm.
Standard equipment includes dual front airbags, ABS, heated seats and door mirrors. Power for the hatchback comes from a 1.6-liter four-cylinder 8v engine producing 87 bhp. Transmission options are a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
Datsun says that it has 25 dedicated dealers in key regions of the country with 75 more due over the next two years. Every car will come with a three year/100,000 km warranty as well.
Speaking about the sedan, the on-DO, Datsun says that it starts deliveries in September. The first on-DO customer was, however, given a symbolic key at the motor show today.
