Faired Honda CB Hornet 160 - Rendering
The Honda CB Hornet 160R was launched in 2015.
If web reports from this week are to go by, the Honda CB Hornet 160R in a faired avatar will be introduced in the Indian market this financial year.
The faired Honda CB Hornet 160R is expected to retain the Hornet's exhaust canister, alloy wheels, and tail section. The bike shall also continue with the conventional handlebars instead of clip-ons, to save on costs. The powertrain will be the same 162.71 cc carburetted, air-cooled mill coupled to a 5-speed gearbox, putting out 15.04 bhp of maximum power and 14.76 Nm of peak torque.

Honda India this month announced four new products for the financial year 2017-18. While two of these will be scooters and one is the adventure tourer Honda Africa Twin, the last product is expected to be a faired version of the Honda CB Hornet 160R. This past week, there has also been speculation that Honda is bringing the Honda XRE300 to India from the Brazilian market.
Confirmation on either of the products is awaited but the second motorcycle is a 'fun' product, which fits the description of the faired CB Hornet.
The new Honda CB Hornet 160R variant is expected to be priced at least 10 percent higher than the sticker price of the naked roadster which is set at INR 87,075 (ex-showroom Mumbai).
