Fiat Aegea sedan world premieres in Turkey - IAB Report [Video]
The Fiat Aegea compact sedan has been unveiled at the 2015 Istanbul Motor Show. Likely to become the Linea's successor, the Aegea was designed at the FCA Style Centre and developed in Turkey by a team of over 2,000 people for three years. It will be manufactured at the 400k unit annual capacity Tofas plant in Bursa, Turkey, and exported to over 40 countries in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region.
"Born to be a sedan," and not a hatchback with a boot, the Aegea is 4.5 meters long, 1.78 meters wide and 1.48 meters tall, with a 2.64 meter wheelbase, and a luggage capacity of over 510 liters.
Offering seating for five people, it will be launched with two gasoline engines and two MultiJet II turbodiesel units, with power output ranging from 95 PS to 120 PS. Depending on the engine chosen, Fiat will offer manual and automatic transmissions while the most economical variant will have a fuel efficiency of 25 km/l.
Features on the Fiat Aegea interior include a Uconnect infotainment system with a 5-inch color touchscreen display supporting TomTom satellite navigation (optional), handsfree Bluetooth, audio streaming, text message reader, voice recognition, and connectivity for USB, AUX and iPod. A multi-function steering wheel and a rearview camera (optional) are its other features.
Fiat has announced that the Aegea will be launched first in Turkey in November. For now Fiat India has not commented on bringing the Aegea locally.
