Production Fiat Aegea - In Images
Set to be launched in Turkey by November this year.
Seen here are the first images of a production Fiat Aegea which seems to have arrived at a dealership already. Fiat announced at the time of unveiling the car, at this year's Istanbul Auto Show in May, that sales in Turkey will start by November this year.
Named after the Aegean Sea, and billed as a replacement for the Fiat Linea, the Fiat Aegea measures 4.5 meters in length, 1.78 meters in width, 1.48 meters in height and 2.64 meters in wheelbase. Under its hood, the Aegea is confirmed to be powered by two petrol engines and two MultiJet II diesel engines with power outputs ranging between 95 hp and 120 hp, paired to manual and automatic transmissions.
Features on the Aegea include diamond-cut alloy wheels, chrome door handles, a 5-inch touchscreen Fiat UConnect media system, automatic climate control, Bluetooth connectivity and a multifunction steering wheel.
The Aegea will be made at the joint-venture TOFAS plant in Turkey, which will also export the sedan to 40 countries, including countries in the African and Middle Eastern region.
According to several reports, the Aegea-based hatchback (expected to replace the Fiat Bravo) and a station wagon are expected to premiere at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, which takes place in the first week of March 2016.
For the Indian market though, the Aegea sedan remains unconfirmed, though FCA India are understood to be working on a replacement for the aging Linea.
