According to a report from IOL, the Fiat Fullback will launch in South Africa in Q3 2016 in both single and double-cab formats. Fiat's newest pickup made its world debut at the 2015 Dubai Motor Show in November.
Basically a rebadged Mitsubishi L200/Mitsubishi Triton, the Fiat Fullback will serve as the company's global one-tonne pickup. The single cab variant is 5,155 mm long, 1,815 mm wide and 1,780 mm high, with a 2265 mm long load-bed that is capable of a 1,100 kg payload, which on the double cab is a little longer at 5285 mm, but gives up 745 mm of its load-bed to accommodate the bench seat and rear doors.
Powering the Fiat Fullback is a 2.4-liter 16 valve inline four-cylinder petrol engine capable of 132 hp at 5,250 rpm and 202 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, or a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine in two power tunes: 134 hp and 175 hp. All engines are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission, while a 4WD system could be offered in double cab variant.
